I had a problem about a week ago where volumes of smoke were pouring out between the hopper and the grill body. Possibly from the hopper lid not being fully closed. I cleaned out the burned pellets from the hopper and restarted the grill. It appeared to start normally, including the smoke during ignition. After about 10 minutes I went to check its progress and found the digital display dead and no fan noise. I checked the electrical outlet. No prob there. The grill is completely dead!
I have left voicemail and email messages yesterday with factory people but no response so far. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you spoken to the dealer you purchased from? They are able to help you.

If that doesn't work, call the number on GMG's website. They are pretty good at getting back, but your dealer should be the first source to help you.

I just heard back from the service rep from GMG. The fuse is blown and the ignitor wires are fried. Now for the fix...

Keep us up to date on how your problem is resloved. GMG is one of the brands that seems to have good customer response, and gets problems resolved.

I have read a few posts in the last month where this happened to a few DB's and has always been promptly resolved.  I just saw one where it was mentioned that GMG may have gotten a few bad boards from their supplier and they were taking care of the issue.  Once those bad controllers are sorted out you should have no problems at all.  You still have, IMO, the best pellet grill available to date for the price range, and even better than some in higher price ranges.  They'll have you cooking in no time!

How long have you had it?  I had posted earlier this week, only had mine a couple of months and it died Sunday.  Rep came out because some of the DB have a defect that the company is aware of.  Replaced some parts and I'm back in business.  hope that's all yours is.

Jason from GMG is the best!!! He is overnighting a new control board and igniter to me. Hopefully that will solve the issues I am having.

When I bought my DB about a month ago, it came with a replacement ignitor.  I had to change out the one that was installed in the grill because they had discovered that some of them were installed with the little set screw going into the wiring instead of onto the metal tube.  I was told that if I didn't replace it, it could possibly damage the circuit board.  So I did.

I wonder if this is the problem being discussed here?

Fishing comes second to Pellet Grilling

What had actually happened is the manufacture of the Igniters for GMG had sent a bad batch of igniters to GMG without GMG's knowledge of it and what was happening is the igniters were shorting out and when they shorted out they take out the control board.  This was a very small issolated issue so most GMG owners will likely not have this issue.  The issue was caught quick enough due to GMG's quick responce to the situation.  They have since updated the control boards to protect the circuitry in the control board in the event of a short in the igniter.  GMG continues to make things better and I love it.  Happy cooking everyone.

I installed the new hot rod and control board in my Daniel Boone, but noticed that the wires coming off the fan were melted. One of the leads on the fan just dropped off when I touched it. So, now I wait for another fix.

Finally, my DB is working. I still haven't heard back from the factory so I removed the motor and rewired from the controller to the fan, eliminating all the burned and melted material.
One change between my original controller and the new one is they now have an ambient temperature sensor.

Once you get the glitches resolved you'll be doo-dooing in tall cotton and really appreciate your grill!  It's too bad GMG got some bad parts, but with their service and resolve to fix anything and everything promptly and 100% you can't go wrong.  Glad you're up and running!

Well on the plus side its working now and the worst of your troubles are over.  Now you just have to decide how your going to store all the food your going to have left over after you find yourself cooking on it every day.  Trust me your going to want to start looking for a larger freezer.LOL.  Always remember to have fun while your grilling just don't let your wife know how easy it is or she will want to start doing it and you wont be able to get away with saying I don't have to do the dishes because I slaved over the hot grill to cook all the food.  Oh who am I kidding the wives always figure it out.  Mine figured it out 6 years ago after I got my first pellet grill.  Now I have to share it with her just like everything else.  Oh well such is life.  Happy Cooking All.
