Fishing comes second to Pellet Grilling

« Reply #17 on: July 16, 2010, 06:27:17 PM »

Those are really nice pictures posted by Rick.  This place is really a beautiful location.  I wouldn't mind staying there even without the competition going on.  Counting down the day's now.  Going to be a real good time.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.  I have lost 35 pounds in the last six weeks and worried I might gain it back in one weekend.  But boy oh boy it would be worth it.  LOL.  Still need at least 10 more competitors.  I am working the phones hard to get them so any help out there would be appreciated.  I was told today by a pellet grill er that the weekend of the Tall ship festival usually attracts up to 12,000 or more people.  This is the same weekend of our event as I have said in the past.  So we are going to have allot of spectators there.

I don't even see a link.  All I see is a pdf symbol.  I am using a Mac computer.

I would really like to attend the event.  I live only about 20 miles from the marina.  I just need to find out the details.

I have only the smaller Daniel Boone to escort to the event, but I'm very satisfied with it.  Was it Silver Bullet that said he was competing in all 3 categories?  To my own demise I should point out that there are 4 categories:  beef-brisket only;  Pork Ribs-Slab only baby back or spare;  Chicken-any type, no cornish game hens;  and Pork Butt-garnished w/green leaf lettuce and parsley only.   I'd hate to win because someone thought there were 3, not 4, categories!  I'm just really looking forward to the experience of the cook and meeting everyone.  I hope weather is fair and our little spot will be just fine for the evening.

Just a reminder that beer will be served on site so no need to bring your own. If your competing and bringing your camper or motor home you let me know in advance please so I can figure out placement of the unit.

My brother & I are planning on entering all 4 catagories. Just because we have the grill space. And we're thinking on a desert. But we don't want to get in over our heads.
My BBQ ecperience is little. I've only done 2 briskets, a couple handfulls of butts & ribs are an on going experiment! Chicken is the easiest of the 4 IMHO.We're just looking to have some fun & maybe learn a few things, Meet some good folks. My brother has NO experience in this.

No experience here either, and I have never cooked anything with wings on my DB except when it was being worn by a beer can.  I just want to have some fun, cook allot of stuff, and help out a good cause along the way.
