Anyone know anything about the Louisana Grills Kentwood?  Seems close to a MAK in features, looks and size and price is similar, too.  Just curious.  Everything here is CS but maybe somebody can fill me in.

Thanks,

Getting to be a lot of folks on the site...I know one member who post fairly regularly has one, can't think of their name.  I am sure he will see this and be happy to answer some questions.

If I remember correctly the major difference between the lines is the cs is not insulated and the kentwood is. Otherwise same technology between the 2.

I have a Kentwood stainless with what I've now seen online with the "vulcan" "sleek" lid.  When I purchased, it was called the "Savannah" model.  Very nice looking and does get very HOT if you want it to and no problem getting hot enough to cook burgers.

Its downside is it has issues in high ambient and sunny conditions as it tends to lose its fire once during a long cook.  Put in some rain or amients below 90F it works well as advertised.  For now, I've had to use a spacer to prop the lid open an inch or so during the summer cooks so the well insulated thing loses enough BTU so its minimum fire capability still lets me cook in the 205 to 235F range.

I'll be calling Dansons to see what they suggest.  They were real good to me when I had issues with an early version of their digital board.

mysticalman pretty much nailed it.  Exact same tehnology as the CS series 3.  Do the new ones come standard with a digital or do they have the analog?  Both controls work very well and should get the unit from 180 to 600.
