I  have owned a Memphis pro for the better part of 4 month if you are lookin for quality product that lays up to all its claims lay out the bucks its worth every penny.  as far as the grease tray goes if you load the cooker up and  do a big cook on it such as butts and briskets i would suggest cleaning it after ever use Memphis does recommend this practice. it may be a bit of a inconvenience but for the time spent I'll do it. the Memphis does all and more that it is stated to do temperature control is spot on let alone the pellet consumption is less than 1/3 of other pellet cookers. this is the 2ND what i would call high end pellet cooker i was lucky enough to have a dealer that would make a swap with me . the other cooker not mentioning any name but started with a "M" should be used as a boat anchor i won't go into detail only after 3 weeks of constant phone calls have the "M" folks say yeah we know there is a design problem we are waiting on revised parts..... any way  look at a Memphis its the real deal ...

First off saying not mentioning names but starts with an "M" is the same thing! Yes we had an issue with the igniters way back then but solved the problem as quickly as possible and sent out all new replacements to keep our customers cooking. All companies go through issues and it's how you deal with them that sets you apart. Stating that our product should be a boat anchor is just ridicules, just ask one of our many extremely satisfied MAK customers! Memphis has had it's share of problems too, but they take care of their customers just like we do. If someone gets frustrated that is just part of the growing pains but we shouldn't drag their name through the mud because of it. Now if we didn't take care of the issue I would completely understand your statement but I know that is not the case...

I do not have a boat right now.

But I do have need for all the "boat anchors" anyone wants to dispose of.
I have a big cook-out coming and my present "boat anchor", that starts with a M,
does a great job.

I could really profit some someone elses disposal. Would gladly help with shipping to my
"marina". (Patio deck)

I am gonna preface my comments by saying I try and get to every section of this site to keep an eye on it but this one slipped by...I don't think in good conscience I would have edited the post because it is not vulgar or abusive, it can be construed as demeaning, but we are not the Stazi...So I will put in my 2 cents...I own a Memphis Pro, love it!  I cooked for 3 weeks on a MAK, very fine pellet unit...Everyone is entitled to their opinion, do I think you comments are harsh and severe, yes...And if someone made the same comment about the Memphis how would you feel...I appreciate that you enjoy the performance of the Memphis, but to bash a pit with the quality of the MAK is kind of laughable even if you had some problems with it...Would you not agree Bob?
